The accident occurred at 6 p.m. Saturday by the intersection of Pershing Drive and Manchester Avenue where a white Toyota Camry struck the woman and her 3-year-old child, who was a passenger on her bike, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Charles Miller. The mother and 3-year-old were taken to a hospital. Miller said the child was reported to be in stable condition but the mother had died. He said the driver, an elderly man, remained at the scene.
Provincial police say a 14-year-old is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Oxford County, Ont., Saturday. In a news release Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police said officers responded to reports of a collision between a snowmobile and a pickup truck in the area of Road 92 and 23rd Line in the Zorra township shortly after 10:30 a.m. The 14-year-old snowmobile operator was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, the OPP said.

PACIFICA A 75-year-old motorist who rear-ended a SamTrans bus earlier this month in Pacifica died Tuesday, authorities said. It was not immediately known if the injuries the motorist suffered in the crash played a role in her death, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Fassler Avenue and the Pacific Coast Highway. The motorist suffered injuries that were believed to be minor at the time, the sheriff's office said.

A bicyclist killed last week in a Tahoe-area crash has been identified as a Lafayette man. James Booth, 42, died Friday, Nov. 28, after a collision with a car on Mount Rose Highway, the Washoe County medical examiner's office said. A motorist fatally struck a cyclist riding through the Southside neighborhood Saturday afternoon. John Edward Muller, 65, of Richmond had been riding southbound on Telegraph Avenue near Haste Street when the driver, headed north, struck him, according to police and the county coroner. Emergency workers took Muller to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The police department's Fatal Accident Investigation Team is looking into the collision, Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Byron White said in an email.
A 26-year-old Brampton man is dead after a crash on Highway 401 involving two commercial vehicles east of Woodstock, Ont., police say. Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway at Oxford Road 29 in Drumbo at around 7 a.m., according to Ontario Provincial Police. A 46-year-old BMW driver died early Sunday after he slammed into a support pillar underneath elevated subway tracks in the Bronx, police said. The driver was zipping south on Jerome Ave. in Fordham Heights when he sideswiped an I-beam supporting the overhead No. 4 train tracks near E. 181st St. just before 4:30 a.m., cops said. He then veered away, over-corrected and crashed his 2022 BMW 330i into another I-beam head-on, cops said.
An 89-year-old woman died after being struck by a car in Coney Island, Brooklyn, on Wednesday afternoon.
